Bravery Blends is a social enterprise with a mission to raise capital through the sale of high-quality coffee beans to increase awareness of PTSD in first responders and expand access to treatment for these unsung heroes.
After months of testing coffee (which lead to many sleepless nights), we are thrilled to be sharing Bravery Blends signature roast with you. It is a proprietary blend of two of our favourite organic, fair trade coffee beans - we know you will love it as much as we do!
I am so excited to finally share my passion with you! I have been working on the idea for Bravery Blends for almost four years now in-between working full time, and being a mother to two young girls and a wife to a first responder. In 2005 I was working for the Royal Canadian Mounted Police as a detachment clerk in Mayerthorpe Alberta when four of my colleagues and friends were killed in the line of duty. The loss of these brave young men has been the inspiration behind Bravery Blends. I want to honour the sacrifice of those that have lost their lives in the line of duty and continue to show my respect to all of those that continue to put on their uniforms every day.
A writer first and foremost, Jenn combines her schooling in PR with her 14 years' experience in public relations and marketing to bolster all of our copy and strategy efforts. Always looking for creative approaches, she likes to be edgy and memorable. When she isn't writing or chasing after her three young boys, you will find her drinking coffee - and three young boys dictates that she drinks lots of it. Mortimer is grateful to be a part of an effort that supports both tired moms and organizations that are giving our first responder heroes a hand up. (She is also camera shy, can you tell?)
A classically trained artist and designer with 12 years' experience. Ashleigh has a passion for seeing (and creating) things uniquely. She possesses an intuitive sense for layout, colour and balance and she breaths life into everything she creates. A devoted wife and mother to two children, she sees the beauty in everything and draws inspiration from her family. And coffee. Coffee has fuelled many long days and creative blocks for this driven entrepreneur, although she says there was no lack of inspiration with this project. "I have loved working with a talented and passionate group of people to bring a high-quality, feel-good product to market."
I'm the girl behind the camera. I've always had a passion for photography and filmmaking.
I love learning new techniques, exploring and refining my creative style. While in University I decided to start my own photography and film making business called Simply Beautiful Productions. I will graduate from the U of L with a BFA in New Media in the spring of 2017 with a focus on filmmaking. I intend to continue my work at Simply Beautiful Production’s and to learn and collaborate with other like-minded creatives. Filmmaking and photography are what I’m most passionate about, and I couldn't be more thrilled to share my passion with you!
